The issue that matters to me most right now is Global Warming. I first learned about global warming in my humanities class where I learned about the melting of polar ice caps and glaciers due to rising temperatures on earth. I have also learned that using more sustainable practices such as solar, wind, and hydroelectric power can greatly reduce the amount of pollution that is produced in our environment. What inspires me is the passion that young that young people all over the world have for social change. Nelson Mandela once said that the world is hungry for action not words. Young people can remain an untapped resource if decision-makers do not integrate their knowledge, vision and experience. I became involved in this area (rights of girls, women) when I last travelled into some rural areas in Enugu state where there has never been electricity since the world began exept for rich men living in towns who come home, once in 10 years and buy a generator set. I saw the pains and the mosquitos as well as manutrition, sickness and stunted growth. After due consideration I decided to champion a public opinion in their favour and help them get out of the pain.
